Have you been looking for a yoga class that is accessible
for everyone, including the total beginner? Are you worried
that people in class will scoff at your inflexibility and expect
you to speak Sanskrit? Have you heard of yoga’s benefits,
but feel skeptical that the practice could really be helpful for
YOU?
If so, please come to our 5-week-starting June 9th, 2011-
Introduction to Yoga Series.
Over the course of the 5-weeks, we will focus on the
fundamentals of the yoga practice; including connecting
breath with movement, utilizing whole body integration in
the asana practice, pranayama (control of the breath) and
full acceptance of physical and emotional limitations and
boundaries.
In addition, yogic history and philosophy will weave through
each class, providing an interesting background for the
asana practice.
These classes will be perfect for beginners, yogis who
haven’t stepped on the mat for many years, and yoga
practitioners looking to refine fundamentals. No
background in yoga is required. Seriously. Just come in
with an open mind, and stretchy pants.
Again, the first step is to just show up.
The Sunflowers (Ages 7-10) This class will incorporate different themes. Classes will begin with a discussion of a theme, followed by breathing techniques, asana instruction, guided rest and yoga journaling. These classes are designed to allow for self-improvement by allowing children to incorporate what they learn on the mat into their home and school life.

Restorative Yoga-A practice designed to help you release tension, connect you to your breath, relax at a very deep level, renew and restore. We use many props to support you in various yoga positions. These positions are meant to be held for several minutes to allow time for the deepening.
Yoga Nidra- Yogic sleep. You'll be guided in a meditaion while laying on your back. It's meant to bring your brain into a wave frequency that is actually slower than that of deep sleep. You'll notice on the night of the very first time you practice that your sleeping pattern will have been improved. This practice is considered to be a sister to meditation, in that it comes with all the benefits that meditation has to offer. You'll find that your thinking will be clearer, your mind calmer and moreover, your life will be more joyous.
The studio is warm and welcoming. Our props are plentiful and clean. With the lights dimmed, it's the most relaxing, yet fulfilling practice ever! Give it a try. It's a great way to break up the stressful week and enjoy a little R & R.
